Championship Europe & MENA 2026
13–16 October 2026 | Zagreb, Croatia
The Open Championship Europe & MENA has a regional focus. Teams from countries within the Europe and Middle East & North Africa (MENA) regions have guaranteed slots according to the official WRO qualification model. A limited number of teams from other regions may also participate.
Countries in the Europe Region:
Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Türkiye, Ukraine, United Kingdom.
Countries in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) Region:
Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates.
All slot requests and registrations must be completed through the official WRO registration system:

The system opens in early January 2026.

Registration Procedure For Countries in the Europe & MENA Region
🔹 STEP 1 – Reserve Teams
Deadline: 1 February 2026
Each country in the region can request:
1 team – RM Elementary
1 team – RM Junior
1 team – RM Senior
1 team – RoboSports
2 teams – Future Innovators (independent of age group)
1 team – Future Engineers
What you must do:
Indicate which slots you will use
Indicate which slots you will NOT use
Only request teams you are confident you can bring
If no information is submitted, it will be assumed your country will not participate.
Countries starting a new category/age group in 2026 may also request a slot in that category
🔹 STEP 2 – Request Additional Teams
Deadline for requests: 15 February 2026
Host Country / WRO confirmation: by 1 March 2026
After Step 1:
The Host Country calculates available remaining slots.
Regional countries may request extra slots (maximum 1 extra per age group/category).
Allocation depends on event capacity and total requests.
🔹 STEP 3 – Final Allocation of Remaining Slots
If slots are still available:
Additional requests may be considered.
Maximum 2 teams per country per age group/category.
For Future Innovators: maximum 3 teams per country in total.
A waiting list may be created.
Regional countries receive priority over countries outside the region
📝 Final Registration
The National Organizer registers the full delegation in www.wro.events
Registration works the same as for the International Final.
If a country brings more than 1 team, at least one qualified judge should be registered.
Countries requesting more than 2 slots must bring at least one qualified judge
Final registration deadline:
No later than 6 weeks before the event (exact date confirmed by the Host Country)
Registration Procedure For Rest of the World (ROW)
Countries outside Europe & MENA may request a limited number of slots
🔹 STEP 1 – Reserve One Team
Deadline: 1 February 2026

Each country may request 1 team in total.

Indicate preferred category/age group.

If demand exceeds availability, the Host Country (with WRO support) ensures balanced distribution.
🔹 STEP 2 – Request an Additional Team
Deadline: 15 February 2026

A second team may be requested:

In a different age group/category than the first team

Maximum 1 team in RoboMission total

Allocation depends on available capacity.
🔹 STEP 3 – Possible Additional Slots
If further slots remain available:

A 3rd (and possibly 4th) slot may be requested

Only in categories not yet represented by your country

Maximum 1 team per category from a ROW country
Regional countries will receive priority in case of waiting lists.
